All new students are required to have an intake diagnostic evaluation so that we can assess a student’s skill level in the following areas: phonological awareness,
awareness of basic spelling patterns and rules, orthographic processing, reading fluency and reading level, awareness of high frequency words (with regular and irregular spelling patterns), penmanship skills, correct letter formation, writing skills (for older
elementary students). This information will allow us to create an individualized starting point for learning for each student.
